Journaling is an important part of many successful people’s routine. It helps everyday to stay in touch with your purpose and goals. I have always liked writing my thoughts, from the first little locked diary I received as a little girl to the leather bound journal I have now from a Tony Robbins event I attended in January. My journals over the years have run the gamut from composition notebooks to fancy journals with style.

There is magic in putting pen to paper and having your own hand form words and emotionally connect to the page, connect to the words and to how you feel. It is true magic to be still and internal and connect with the YOU inside. You are important and unique, find your voice and your dreams, have them come alive.

Each entry I have made over the years have the same things in common, a piece of me is there. Sometimes I read the entries from years ago, and I can’t believe the catharsis found there. Some days it was joy, some days frustration, some fear, some gratitude. When I write my dreams it is fun to see that parts and pieces of what my heart desired have actually unfolded.

This week, if you don’t already journal, make a commitment to this daily ritual. Habits of successful people are important to emulate. Daily journaling is one of the best ways to align yourself each day. I do it in the morning, you may want to do it at night as you slide into bed.

Don’t know what to write? Well, here are 4 things to write everyday…

  1. What matters in your life right now…
  2. What gives you meaning…
  3. What are you grateful for…
  4. What your dream life looks like…

Once you write these entries (four paragraphs) you can then open up and let it fly. When you  finish your entry, close the book in gratitude and envision your perfect day unfolding, be it the day you are in, or the very next day if you write at night.

Make a success habit to journal each day to connect with your life’s meaning, get a jump start on the IDEASheet. Let your pen and paper be your best friend.

All the best,

Mo
